RDEC
FAQ’s

What is RDEC?
The Research and Development Expenditure Credit (RDEC), previously known as the Above The Line (ATL) R&D Tax Credit, was introduced from 1st April 2013 for companies as an alternative to the existing Large Company Scheme for Research and Development (R&D) Tax Relief.
Who can apply for the scheme?
The RDEC is available to companies who do not meet the criteria for claiming R&D Tax Relief under the SME Scheme. It offers a payable credit to loss making companies.
How do you claim?
Please contact us by email or telephone as soon as possible so we can identify qualifying activities. Please don’t make an assumption that you don’t qualify ‐ around 95% of companies that we visit thought this, but after our appraisal, they did qualify!
